Intercessory prayer is a very important part of the Christian’s life. We hear from our friends often the words, “pray for me.” We answer, “I will, and you pray for me.” Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith would not fail. (Lu 22:32) The Lord knew that Peter would be put to severe tests that would require great faith to get through. The gospels reveal to us some of those trials that Peter and the others faced and conquered. We see Peter also being rescued from imprisonment by an Angel which we believe to be as a result of intercessory prayer. (Acts 12:1-12) Jesus also prayed for all who belong to HIM. (Jn 17:9-11) We also face many tests that are impossible to pass without prayers of faith. Prayers for others are common in the Bible and we must follow those examples. The saying here at FHCOC, “You pray for me and I’ll pray for you and watch God change things,” is a good one we think and we practice it daily. We have observed many changes here that have been accomplished because God indeed does answer our prayers. The FHCOC members are committed fully to prayer for others and ourselves with the faith that God hears and delivers. Please pray for others this week as you share the joy. (Ro 1:9)
