The Family Life Ministry at the Church of Christ in Forest Hill is dedicated to encouraging and strengthening families as they strive to live righteously.  We plan and offer supportive, self-help and recreational activities for our body of believers and the whole community.

Baby and Bridal Showers

We encourage brides and first-time mothers-to-be through the showering of gifts as they embark upon their new ventures in family.

Black History Program

Designed to educate the church community about histories of African Americans both in and outside of the church, this program promotes cultural awareness, enhances knowledge, and encourages children and adults to embrace African American heritage.

Church Picnic

Food, games and lots of Christian Fellowship! The Annual Church Picnic is a day of fun for all!

Forest Hill Singers

Ephesians 5:19 – Speaking to yourselves in songs, hymns and spiritual songs

Forest Hill Singers love singing and ministering to many through song.

Getting to Know You

Hello Neighbor! You are invited to attend our weekly cookout and playground time! 5pm on Wednesdays. 

 

You can expect: 

  • A good hamburger, hot dog, or sandwich;
  • Information and pamphlets about this program and the church;
  • A person who can discuss religious topics with you;
  • A pleasant time and new friends;
  • An open invitation to the Forest Hill church services for all ages. 

Note: We request all children be accompanied by a responsible adult while in attendance.

J. S. Winston Sound Doctrine Foundation

Established in 1982, the JSWSDF gives

  • assistance to young ministers and their wives who are majoring in Bible and Religious Education in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree at Southwestern Christian College;
  • financial support to Southwestern Christian College; and
  • scholarships to Forest Hill members and their children upon being selected from an application process.

 

Fundraisers include a Golf Classic, an International Banquet, a Parking Lot Sale, a Sweetheart Tea, etc.

Family Retreat

This yearly trek takes participants outside of Fort Worth to learn, build relationships, fellowship, and outright enjoy vacations together! Previous trips included: Galveston, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Hot Springs, Arkansas, attending “The Great Passion Play” in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and a cruise to Jamaica!

Graduation Program

We embrace, encourage and congratulate our high school and college graduates and their families! We celebrate members who achieve these milestones of life with a meal, a display of their accomplishments and the opportunity for each graduate to publicly recognize their family and friends who helped them reach their goal.

Ladies’ Retreat, Men’s Retreat

These annual weekend retreats are held at facilities that are within driving distance of Fort Worth. The gender-based nature of the events yield opportunities to fellowship and delve into issues on a deeper level while also providing an opportunity to relax and have fun.

Ladies Day Program

Dynamic, spirit-filled speakers! Innovative “mixers” to meet new sisters! Wonderful singing! Delicious breakfast and lunch! This exciting annual program for ladies is both enjoyable and spiritually uplifting!
