Empowering the Next Generation

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

From First Steps to First Careers

At Forest Hill Church of Christ, we believe faith isn’t just for “grown-ups”—it’s for the little hearts, growing minds, and big imaginations of our young people. Our Youth Ministry is dedicated to nurturing the whole person—spiritually, mentally, and physically—from toddlers taking their first steps to high school graduates preparing for their next chapter.

By partnering with parents and church leadership, we provide a safe, high-energy environment where the Bible truly comes to life. Whether they are hearing their very first Bible story or learning to lead through prayer and service, every young person has a seat at our table.

What to Expect

We aim to make our ministry the highlight of your child’s week through:

  • Dynamic Learning: Engaging classes where faith meets fun.

  • Service Projects: Teaching the heart of a servant through local and regional outreach.

  • Memorable Adventures: Local outings and out-of-town trips that build lifelong bonds.

  • Leadership Development: Preparing our youth to be mature Christian leaders in both the church and the community.

From the nursery to the graduation stage, we are here to walk alongside your family as we empower the leaders of tomorrow, today.

How We Engage

Our youth ministry is all about helping students grow in their faith, build strong relationships, and stay connected throughout the year. Through classes, worship, service projects, and special events, students have opportunities to learn, lead, and engage with others in meaningful ways. These activities reflect how we encourage our youth to live out their faith together:

Children’s Bible Hour

Every 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th Sunday

During our regular worship service, children are invited to join us for Children’s Bible Hour. This isn’t just “childcare”—it’s a worship experience tailored specifically for their age group. We focus on building a rock-solid Biblical foundation through:

  • Joyful Praise: Singing and praying together.
  • Active Learning: Engaging Bible lessons and hands-on activities.
  • Fellowship: A dedicated snack time to build friendships with peers.
  • Spiritual Growth: Reinforcing the stories and books of the Bible in ways that stick.

Children’s Worship

Every 4th Sunday

Once a month, we take things to the next level! Our Children’s Worship service is a “mini-sanctuary” experience designed for Pre-K through 5th graders. This unique service mimics our adult worship but is delivered entirely on a child’s level.

What to expect:

  • Youth Leadership: Services are often led in song and prayer by our very own congregational youth, inspiring the younger children.
  • Age-Appropriate Sermons: A message that speaks directly to their world.
  • Breakout Sessions: Small groups that dive deeper into age-specific lessons through fun, targeted activities.
  • Full Participation: From communion thoughts to giving, children learn the “why” behind every act of worship.

A Note for Parents: We know how important your child’s safety and spiritual growth are. Our volunteers are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where your kids can ask questions, make friends, and—most importantly—learn how much God loves them.

What’s in store?

  • Spiritual Growth: Daily devotionals and deep-dive Bible workshops.
  • The Challenge: Our youth consistently bring home Bible Bowl trophies!
  • The Fun: A talent show, formal banquet, sports, and team games.

TSYC provides our students with more than just a trip; it offers them a solid spiritual foundation and positive, lasting impressions of life in Christ.

Threads Through our Tapestry
Active Roles in Our Church Family

At Forest Hill, our youth aren’t just the future—they are the present. You’ll find our young people welcoming visitors, managing technology, serving guests, and leading in worship. They are an essential thread in everything we do.

The youth of Forest Hill are constantly encouraged to participate in every aspect of our being. Consequently, young people help welcome our visitors, assist with technology and public relations, serve guests during food events, conduct parts of worship, and more.  So in addition to specific programs set up for them, young people at our congregation play active roles in all we do.
